Guide for Authors

The following Author Guidelines describe in detail the requirements for submission of manuscripts to the Journal. Please submit your manuscript through the website at https://vmmj.journals.ekb.eg/ 

Basis of Acceptability

Manuscripts must be within the scope of JOURNAL  extending to the knowledge in Veterinary Medical sciences, Animal Sciences, Animal Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Aquatic Medicine, Food technology, Quality and Control and Poultry Diseases,  be original in authorship and publication; be based on adequate factual record; and be significant in data or treatment. Reviewers evaluate the suitability of the manuscript and state justification for publication. The language of JOURNAL  publications is English. The manuscript must be understandable and correct in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 

FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

Manuscripts that do not meet the formatting requirements (1 to 4) or the appropriate manuscript structure cannot be sent out for peer review and will be sent back to the contact author for formatting concerns. Please submit a clean manuscript that does not show tracked changes, corrections, or deleted material marked on the manuscript. 

Typescript

•    Double-spaced typed (includes all section of the manuscript).

  • 12-point font size (such as Times New Roman).
  • One column format: A4 typeset: 210 x 297 mm with 25 mm margins.  
  • Page numbers (included at the bottom to facilitate peer review).
  • Continuous line numbers. 

Units of Measurement: SI units are mandatory 

3. Tables and Figures: Use Microsoft Word to create tables. Do not create tables using Excel files. Do not place tables as graphics or photographs and do not use text boxes within table cells. Large Tables are sent in landscape format. Small tables are sent in portrait format with a minimum text size of 10 pt. Each table/figure is not to exceed a width of 76 mm in portrait format. Each table and figure should have a title and a number, which is cited in the body of the main text. All numbered references must be cited in sequential order (that is, 1, 2, 3...). Figures are typically reduced before publication and, therefore, clarity in the original submission is essential. 

Mathematical Expressions 

  • Every symbol must be defined and multiple meanings should be avoided.
  • Equations should appear on individual lines and should be numbered.
  • Equation Maker should only be used when creating stand-alone equations. The symbol font may be used when inserting symbols within the bod by of the text.
  • Do not place numerical expressions or symbols in text boxes within the body of the text. 

 

MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

  • The Manuscript Structure Table includes all sections of a Final Revised Manuscript listed in order.
  • A New Manuscript Submission includes uploading two files: Title Page file consisting of sections (1, 2, 3 and 4) and the Manuscript Main File (All sections except 2 and 3).

4 Abstract Include on the first page of the manuscript with a concise aim, experimental design, principal findings, and conclusion. Do not cite references, figures, or tables in the abstract. Abstract should not exceed 250 words.
5 Keywords 5 keywords maximum.
6 Body of Main Text       Typical sections may include the followings headings as an example:-      Introduction and aim of the work-      Material and methods -      Results-      Discussion-      Conclusion-      References-      Figures legends
7 Acknowledgments(optional) Include this section to recognize any individuals, organizations, or agencies for assistance or support for the reported work.
8 List of Notations, Definitions, and Symbols Should be provided on a separate page and should be double spaced. Notations can be listed under equations if there are only a few.
9 References List The list of references is submitted in numerical format. References are cited in sequential order throughout the body of the text, i.e. [1], [2], [3]. Do not reference a work that has NOT been published or accepted for publication.Sample of numerical references:[1] Hamza AA (2010) Ameliorative efects of Moringa oleifera Lam seed extract on liver fbrosis in rats. 10 Appendices Include data of secondary importance or data needed to support assertions in the text. Data should be referenced in the body of the main text.
11 Tables Tables and figures will be reduced to 76 mm in width. Large lettering and heavy line weights should be used in line drawings so that they will be clear and sharp after reduction. Colors should not be relied on as a distinction between lines in a graph. However, send colored figures for the on-line journal editions. Do NOT INSERT FIGURES IN TABLES AND DO NOT USE TABLES TO INSERT FIGURES
12 Figures

NEW SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

To submit a manuscript, go to the website …………………… and log in. If you are not a registered user, you must register to use the site. Each author of the manuscript must have a user account. Manuscripts will be placed on hold or sent back to the contact author requesting the accounts be made. Each author of the manuscript must be listed as an author on the website database. In your home page, click "Submit Manuscript" to submit a manuscript. The corresponding author will receive an e-mail confirming submission with a manuscript template attached. 

In case of difficulties with on-line submission, please contact JOURNAL  at: or use the "Contact Us" button on the website. 

Please consider these requirements: 

  • Submit editable Microsoft Word files for the "Title Page" file and "Manuscript Main File".
  • Send each figure and each table in a separate word file.
  • Use automatic word-wrap (soft returns) consistently for sentences within a paragraph and use the enter key or return key (hard return) at the end of a paragraph.
  • Do not use tabs with text.
  • Do not number headings.
  • Use consistent spacing throughout the document.
  • Use words such as (author, discusser, engineer and researcher) instead of (I, he, she, his, her, our and we). Do not use brand names (only generic).

REVISED SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

All the submitted papers that have passed the preliminary check by the editors will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to judge their significance and originality. Those papers positively recommended by at least two expert reviewers will be finally accepted for publication in the JOURNAL . Revised Manuscripts including responses to all reviewers' comments and corrections are resend to ERJ. Submit editable Microsoft Word files that include all manuscript sections (1-12) in the order listed in the Manuscript Structure Table. Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author to correct any typesetting errors. Alterations to the original manuscript will not be accepted at this stage. Proofs should be returned within 48 hours of receipt.
